I have been aggressively using and supporting InRoads and OpenRoads since 1993.
I was recruited to Bentley in 2005, recognized for my expertise in developing training for InRoads and my technical leadership in moving large organizations (City of San Diego, Oklahoma DOT, et al.) to InRoads success.
My first role at Bentley was to develop their first formal "Advanced InRoads" (multi-day) class.
I have been deeply involved in the OpenRoads revolution since before its release, developing initial training. I taught OpenRoads Technology classes In May 2013 at its public premiere at the Bentley conference. Within a few weeks I was in Vancouver delivering a one-week class on OpenRoads (to Civil 3D experts, who had already gone through the entirety of the OnDemand course material. Surprise! (It was consulting instead of "training". Note that this is the best way to maximize your on-site value: go through all the available material ahead of time) ).
As more resources became available to develop Bentley Civil courseware, Jeff's expertise in Site and Drainage allowed him to design and author training in those scopes as well (Bentley is chuck full of Roadway experts).
Jeff left Bentley after thirteen years specifically to work on integrated MegaProjects. "I feel like I've been teaching at a War College for so long, that I've lost the feel for what war is really like." A harsh metaphor, but not as hyperbolic as one would think. Being in the trenches of multi-disciplinary (including drainage and utilities), live collaboration, ProjectWise OpenRoads Design-Build MegaProjects was a transformative experience. The industry has changed rather dramatically in the 13 years I was "out of 'real' production".
